Parent Orientation (prerequisite for Baby Dedication)

Family was originally God's design.

The family was the first institution created by God between a man and a woman.  Baby Dedication is when we give back to God what belongs to Him (1 Samuel 1:27-28).  It is a commitment by the parents or parent to train and teach their child Biblical principles, to trust in God, and to be thankful for this blessing. Therefore, we dedicate the child/children of married couples (man and woman) or of a single parent who is committed to God in the development of not only themselves, but also of the child.  

If this describes you, please join us at Parent Orientation to prepare for the Baby Dedication. However, if your situation is different, and at this time you do not meet these guidelines according to God's Word, we would love to have the opportunity to help bring you into a closer relationship with God, so that you may be able to dedicate your family to Him; please contact us for more details.

What will we do at Parent Orientation?

• Connect face-to-face with a Rock Kids leader
• Learn what Baby Dedication is and is not
• Receive the exercises to complete before the Baby Dedication
• Receive all the Baby Dedication details and resources to ensure the celebration day runs smoothly for you and your family — well, as smoothly as it can be when there are little ones involved!

Please RSVP to this Parent Orientation so we know to expect you.  Note that this does not register you for the Baby Dedication itself; registration will take place at Parent Orientation.

FAQs

Who should attend Parent Orientation?

• Expecting parents and parents with children who will be 24 months old and under by the time of the Baby Dedication (see dates below).  Additional requirements will be discussed at the Parent Orientation.

Do you have childcare during the Parent Orientation?

• No; but we will keep the orientation short and sweet, so bring the little ones!

When is the next Baby Dedication/Parent Orientation?

• Dates on the 2018 Calendar are: March 11; June 10; August 19; November 18.  Please note that dates are subject to change.  Follow our Rock Kids City Heights Facebook Page for the most up-to-date information.
