Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Administrate and Oversee PILLARS Program Grades 7-12
- Maintain our UC A-G accredited curriculum as an elective so students can receive elective credit for high school
- Involvement in the admissions and evaluation process of prospective students
- Meet with students and parents prior to admission to the program to develop the schedules and individual accommodation plan
- Observe students in regular education classes, collaborate with teachers, administer assessments and assist students regularly when needed
- Collaborate with regular education teachers to facilitate accommodations in their classes
- Provide initial and on-going training to the regular education teachers so they can understand learning differences and provide support for PILLARS students in their classes
- Maintain on-going communication with parents with progress reports, updates, and grades
- Provide consultation to parents in student assessment, behavior, specialized instruction and provide guidance as needed
- Coordinate IEP meetings as needed
- Coordinate teacher meetings for student collaboration on a regular basis or by parent request
- Facilitate SAT/ACT accommodations through College Board for students who need them
- Teach and coach students in life skills such as organization, time-management, preparation and self-advocacy
- Collaborate with families, teachers, parents, and special educators to create a culture of support to maximize successful learning
- One-on-one and small group instruction provided to support successful integration into the general education program
Education, Training, and Experience
- BA degree, Special Education credential preferred, some teaching experience preferred
- Continuing education/training via web seminars – on-going education/training on best practices for secondary school special education programs

- Read, write, spell, and communicate clearly in English.
- Work productively, both independently and collaboratively with others.
- Follow verbal and written instructions.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office for MAC (Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint).
- Ability to recognize and maintain confidentiality as appropriate.
Organizational and Spiritual Requirements:
- Demonstrate Christ-centered behavior at all times by treating people with dignity, respect, compassion and integrity.
- Utilize the principles of Matthew 18 and Ephesians 4:15 to resolve differences of opinion with others.
- Successful completion of a thorough pre-employment references and background checks, which includes: social security verification, Local, State & Federal criminal conviction records search, national security database, and sex offender registry.
- Attendance at all mandatory meetings and events. This includes serving at Good Friday, Easter and Christmas services as well as the annual volunteer appreciation event.
- Member of the Rock Church (or if Academy, a Christian church)
- Regular involvement in home Church activities, ministries and events.
- Tithe 10% to the Rock Church. (or if Academy, a Christian church)
- Signed acknowledgment of the Rock’s Statement of Faith.
- Ability to interpret and adhere to the Rock’s policies, procedures and employee handbook.
- Be self-motivated and goal oriented, use good judgment, and be flexible and innovative.
