Getting Involved - Disaster Response Team

This team is designed to help you protect yourself, your family, your neighbors, and your neighborhood in an emergency situation. While people will respond to others in need without the training, one goal of the Rock Disaster Response Team is to help them do so effectively and efficiently without placing themselves in unnecessary danger.

Local government prepares for everyday emergencies. However, during a disaster, the number and scope of incidents can overwhelm conventional emergency services.

The Rock Church is collaborating with the Office of Emergency Services to coordinate our disaster response efforts in harmony with the needs in our community. As such, we are seeking to build our volunteer data base that will be notified of an opportunity to serve as part of our Rock Disaster Response Team during a time of need. There are opportunities to per-register as a "General Volunteer" or a "Specialist Volunteer."

General Volunteers will be pre-registered with the Rock Church Disaster Response Team to be called upon for special needs of service in times of a disaster and will be notified of the opportunities of service and of the time/location of a response team orientation.

When the Rock Church requests volunteers for a response activation, volunteers will be notified by the Roch Church ASAP via e-blast, Facebook and Twitter.

Specialist Volunteers will also be pre-registered with the Rock Church Disaster Response Team to be called upon for special needs of service in times of a disaster and will be notified of the opportunities of service and of the time/location of a response team orientation. In addition, the Rock will be assessing and verifying proper certification for specialties listed:
